Why Store Supplies at Home
Your household should keep enough supplies to stay safe and comfortable for at least 72 hours if you cannot leave home or access stores.
Water
Store two litres of water per person per day for drinking, cooking, and hygiene. For a household of four, that is at least 24 litres for three days.
Consider water purifying tablets or additional stored water for cooking and cleaning.
Food
Stock non-perishable food such as canned food, energy bars and dried foods. Replace food supplies once a year.
Choose foods your household likes and that require no cooking or minimal heating. Include ready-to-eat canned goods (beans, vegetables, fruits, fish, chicken) and items that do not spoil.
